Student Rotarian

Student Rotarian Heather Oder with her mother Kelly and father David Our outgoing Student Rotarian, Heather Oder, gave her talk today about some of her experiences, passions, and goals. Heather has been involved in gymnastics for a number of years and has participated in multiple state championships. She described the competitive drive, discipline and self respect that she developed from her involvement with competitive gymnastics and how she also passed that on as a gymnastics instructor.

Heather has recently turned her extra curricular attentions to horses and plans on studying nursing after graduation. Thank you Heather for all of your hard work in the community and best of luck to you in the future!

"Economic Boomerang"

Rick Swats C. David gave our program "Economic Boomerang" for which he invited Rick Swats of MohaveBusiness.com to speak about our regional economy outlook. Rick described some of the positive events that he believes are shaping up in our area and how they may affect us. Some of the points that Rick discussed included the proposed Kingman Crossing commercial areas, Harley Davidson at the Chrysler Proving Grounds, Newcore Steel, North American Pipe, the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and Cinemark Theatres.

Thank you to C. David and Rick Swats for this program.

Project R-iStudent

The Kingman Rotary Club put together a project proposal for the recent USA Friendship conference. Our hope was to partner with another club to be able to complete what we are calling Project R-iStudent. Jack and his wife Maggie put together a narrated Power Point presentation of our project to be reviewed at the conference. Today they gave us a quick demo of the presentation.

Thank you very much to Jack and Maggie for putting together such a great presentation. Also thank you to Moon, Shelly, Jack and Maggie for taking the time to attend the Friendship conference and propose our project. Unfortunately our project wasn't picked up this year, but we may still be able to pull this off.
