Student Rotarian

Alec Duranceau, our outgoing Student Rotarian, gave a short talk on his post-high school goals and aspirations. As with many of our Student Rotarians, Alec is an intelligent, motivated, and socially aware individual. He plans on applying his ethics and convictions to serve his fellow man through medecine. Dad, Alec and Mom

Alec will be attending the University of Arizona (go WildCats!) where he will study medicine and embark on the long journey to become a doctor. He had an opportunity recently to visit a hospital in the Philippines and noted the clear need for additional physicians there as well as everywhere else such as the Arizona metro areas. And after all, he said, Dr. Duranceau has kind of a nice ring to it.

Thank you for telling us a little bit about your goals Alec. We look forward to a bright future for you and hope to see you again!

Program

Joseph provided our program, "Cinco de Mayo" in which he discussed a little bit about race, discrimination and fellowship. He commented on the discrimination that he has seen in his time in Kingman and in the West at large. On considering fellowship in Rotary, Joseph noted that in Rotary, no one hesitates to grab and shake someone's hand. Joseph

Thank you Joseph! As William noted, your words really embodied the essence of Rotarian fellowship.
