Announcement

  • There is a Rotary Governing Board Meeting this coming Monday, March 10, 2008. Attending Board meetings is a great way to perform a make up and learn more about the decisions affecting our club - all members are welcome to attend.
  • Our Spring Clean Up event is tentatively scheduled for April 19th. This our road cleaning project for our mile of highway. Please sign up through this website or contact JC to confirm your participation. This project is a great way to get out in the open air and enjoy Rotary fellowship.
  • The Annual Homer Johnston Memorial Rotary Charity Golf Tournament is just around the corner (April 5) and we all need to pitch in and get our sponsorships and teams together. The goal is for each member (yes, ALL of us) to bring in at least two sponsors. Contact Cullen for the current list of who's committed to which businesses. Thanks for the help everyone - this is our BIGGEST fund raiser of the year! You can find all of the details on our official tournament website.
  • Billy is putting together a great project for students of Manzanita Elementary school and needs our help. He will be getting the details together for a big Easter basket and Easter egg coloring event to benefit those students at Manzanita that may otherwise not receive any Easter goodies. Please sign up on our site or contact Billy ASAP - we don't have much time to put this together. Thanks!
  • The Kingman High School Interact Club has been reinstated and reinvigorated by our recent RYLA participants! Thanks to everyone that helped put that event together: Rod, Roger, Brent Potter, and anyone else that helped out!
  • Friend of the club Don Kramer recently passed away and will be remembered at his memorial service which is scheduled for March 15th at 1:00 PM at the Grace Lutheran Church.

Program

Phil presented a heartfelt program entitled "Class Act" in which he discussed the important Rotary topics of membership and fellowship. He spoke a bit about how he originally became interested in the club and in Rotary, which was by mention from a friend and how important the fellowship of this club is to him.

Phil also spoke a bit about membership and sponsoring new members. He passed out the "How to Propose a New Member" pamphlet and form from Rotary International and talked about the importance of proposing quality members. Although it is important to keep infusing new members into the club, it is more important to maintain the high quality of membership that helps us honor and acheive our Rotary humanitarian goals.

During his presentation, Phil emphasized that Rotary is a place where he meets his friends each week and that fellowship is very important to him personally. We have all seen Phil's dedication to Rotary and to this fellowship that he spoke about and there is no doubt that Phil really is a "Class Act".

Thanks Phil, you are an inspiration to the club!
